“All Things Spooky” Spooky Swim, Jack-O-Lantern 5k, Spooky Family Fun

September 26, 2025

As the leaves begin to change, the City of Shakopee is offering a variety of events for both tricksters and treat-lovers. Throughout October, Shakopee Parks and Recreation is hosting three major events to help you get into the spooky spirit. These include the Spooky Swim, the Jack-O-Lantern 5K, and Spooky Family Fun.

If you're looking to celebrate the fall season by getting active, the Jack-O-Lantern 5K and Kids Pumpkin Run is a great way to get outside and get moving. Costumes are encouraged but not required, and prizes will be awarded to both top finishers and the best dressed. Both races begin on the morning of October 25 and wrap up just in time to get lunch and recover before the evening festivities.

That same evening, Huber Park will host this year’s Spooky Family Fun. This event is a perfect opportunity to show off costumes, collect candy, and enjoy the fall atmosphere with a variety of games and activities.

On October 28, head over to the Shakopee Community Center’s Indoor Aquatics Center for the Spooky Swim. From 5 to 8 p.m., families can swim, take photos with the spooky Halloween decorations, make snacks and crafts, and explore the haunted pool area.

Whether you're in it for the fun, the fitness, or the candy, Shakopee has something for everyone this Halloween season.
